Thinking about an electric Hyundai? Act now. The federal clean‑vehicle incentives—up to $7,500 on qualifying new EVs and up to $4,000 on eligible used EVs—are scheduled to end after September 30, 2025. Deliveries on or after October 1, 2025 will not qualify.

Why act now

  • Lock in thousands in savings: qualifying buyers may receive up to $7,500 on eligible new EVs and up to $4,000 (30% of price, max $4,000) on eligible used EVs if the vehicle is delivered by September 30, 2025.

  • Beat the rush: waiting risks higher effective prices and tighter inventory as the deadline approaches.

  • Lower running costs: EVs typically require less maintenance, and Dominion Energy Virginia offers off‑peak rates and charger incentives that further reduce ownership costs.

How the federal credit works

To claim the New Clean Vehicle Credit (30D) before it sunsets, the vehicle must be delivered by September 30, 2025, meet final assembly in North America and battery‑sourcing thresholds, and be under the MSRP caps: $55,000 for cars or $80,000 for SUVs, pickups, and vans. Buyer income caps apply: $150,000 single, $225,000 head‑of‑household, or $300,000 married filing jointly.

For the Previously Owned Clean Vehicle Credit (25E): purchase price $25,000 or less, first transfer only, income caps of $75,000 single, $112,500 head‑of‑household, or $150,000 married filing jointly. The credit equals 30% of price, up to $4,000.

Point‑of‑sale transfer has been available since January 1, 2024. Eligible buyers can transfer the credit to a registered dealer for an immediate price reduction. We’ll handle validation and paperwork in‑store.

Which Hyundai EVs may qualify

  • 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 — eligible trims may qualify for up to $7,500 when properly equipped and delivered by September 30, 2025. We will confirm your specific build and VIN.

  • IONIQ 9 (three‑row SUV) — Georgia production models are expected to qualify; availability varies. We’ll verify VIN‑specific status.

  • KONA Electric and earlier IONIQ 5 builds — models assembled outside North America generally do not qualify for 30D new‑purchase credit. Some shoppers have used leasing to access the commercial credit, which also sunsets after September 30, 2025. Ask us to review the latest guidance for your situation.

Eligibility can change with battery‑sourcing updates and federal lists. Bring your preferred trim and we’ll confirm VIN‑specific status and apply any instant credit you qualify for.
