As you can see, there’s a Tucson to fit any budget and lifestyle. Now let’s discover what it is that makes the Tucson so desirable.

2023 Hyundai Tucson: Safety

Every Tucson comes with Hyundai SmartSense, a suite of driver-assist technologies designed to elevate your Virginia Beach commute. The suite includes Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go, which uses radar to maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you while traveling at your chosen speed. As traffic slows, the SCC slows your Tucson to a complete stop without driver input and reactivates if the vehicle in front moves within three seconds. A navigation-based SCC system replaces the original SCC on the upper models and is available as an option on lower trims.

Hyundai offers an advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection (FCA-Ped) system that scans the road ahead for cars. In addition to vehicles, the system can detect pedestrians and cyclists that may cross your path at intersections. When the FCA-Ped detects any of these, it will alert you and apply brake support if needed.

Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane-Following Assist, and Highway-Driving Assist systems use radar and optical sensors to track your Tucson when traveling within marked lanes. These systems work together to alert you when you drift, provide gentle steering correction and throttle adjustment to keep you centered, and ensure you follow at a safe distance.

An available Blind-Spot View Monitor sends a live video feed to the information screen, showing your blind spots when vehicles are present. The optional Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist feature takes safety a step further by warning you and applying subtle steering input if you attempt to change lanes with a vehicle in your blind spot.

2023 Hyundai Tucson: Interior Comfort and Convenience

The Tucson seats five passengers in its spacious cabin. The rear seat can split or fold to accommodate various passenger and cargo configurations. You’ll get 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat, which increases to 80.3 cubic feet of storage area with the rear seat folded down.

Lower trims offer premium cloth upholstery, while the middle tiers have Hyundai’s H-Tex synthetic seating material that is beautiful and durable. Finally, top models come with premium leather and feature heated and ventilated front seats. You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob on every model but the SE and SEL.

Your in-vehicle tech runs through a 10.25-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Dynamic Voice Recognition technology pre-loaded for your convenience. An HD radio system comes standard on the lower trims, while top tiers boast a premium audio system from Bose.

Wireless charging comes standard on every model but the base SE. And dual USB ports are found in both rows to keep everyone charged and connected.

2023 Hyundai Tucson: Exterior Design

Tucson’s refreshed design strikes a stunning pose. The exterior features a front fascia with LED headlights and daytime running lights framing the grille for an aggressive look. Sculpted sides, flared fenders, and roof rails give the Tucson an athletic posture ready for adventure. In addition, you can choose 17- or 19-inch alloy wheels in various styles and a hands-free smart liftgate with auto-open and adjustable height settings.

The XRT model has off-road styling cues such as body-side cladding and black skid plates. The Tucson N Line has trim-exclusive exterior features, including the front grille, badging, twin-tipped exhaust, and rear spoiler.

2023 Hyundai Tucson: Performance

Gas-powered Tucson models have a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder 16-valve engine and a gasoline direct injection fuel system. In addition, each Hyundai Tucson includes a standard eight-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC, allowing drivers to override the automatic transmission and manually shift gears to gain more control over the SUV’s performance. As a result, this powertrain produces 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

Hyundai uses a capable front-wheel-drive system as the standard drivetrain. However, you can upgrade to Hyundai TRACtion All-Wheel Drive (HTRAC) for enhanced traction and control over various surfaces and weather conditions. HTRAC monitors 50 vehicle inputs more than 100 times per second to precisely distribute torque to the wheels. Each trim also has selectable drive modes that allow you to tune your throttle, steering, and suspension to the road and your mood.

Tucson Hybrid and plug-in hybrid models have a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with gasoline direct injection technology. This engine makes 180 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. In addition, hybrid Tucson trims add a 44.2 kWh electric motor that produces 59 horsepower. Plug-in hybrid models use a larger 66.9 kWh electric motor that puts out 90 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque.

In addition, Hyundai offers complimentary maintenance. That means you pay nothing for routine factory-scheduled maintenance for three years or up to 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
